Ultimate Pet Challenge

From Idling To Rule The Gods

Description

This challenge is much different than most. In this challenge, you will not fight any gods yourself, but your pets will instead fight the gods for you.

Unlock Condition

Have a total of 10k+ growth from all your pets OR 20 total pets, whichever comes first.

Restrictions

Only your pets can fight gods until you (or they) defeat Baal. Banked GP does not help (except to make your god withstand the attacks), and planet multi has no effect.

Reward

Challenge Points: 8
Statistics Multi: 2,000,000

Campaigns completed by your pets will have a a 5% boost to their final reward. This applies to every campaign. Your pets will give more growth, gain more pet stones and rare items, have a better chance at GP, gain more levels, and give more multi. This caps after 20 UPCs, with a max bonus of 100%.

Completions to Max

20

Recommended Stats

40k pet growth is considered a good baseline to finish this in a reasonable time as well as 12+ pets.

Future campaigns run by your pets will have a 5% boost to their final reward. This applies to every campaign. Your pets will give more growth, gain more pet stones and rare items, have a better chance at GP, gain more levels, and give more multi. This caps after 20 UPCs, with a max bonus of 100%.

Strategy

First, how it works: on top of your basic pet stats, you have 3 multipliers:

  • Gods defeated
    • Each god multiplies the gods defeated multiplier by 4 when defeated for the first time. Defeating them again after rebirthing does not give any more. This reaches 18 quintillion (1.8e16) with the defeat of Chronos.
  • Monuments
    • Monuments and their upgrades provide a multiplier to pet stats of 1 + (the sum of your god multiplier to each stat from monuments)/2.
  • Pet pills
    • Pet pills come from item campaigns done during UPCs. In a 1-hour item camp, 1 pet pill is found for every 10 pet stones brought back. The game keeps fractions internally, but the number displayed will be rounded. E.g. pets returning with 65 pet stones will also bring 6.5 pet pills, which will be displayed as 7 pet pills in the campaign result report. In a longer campaign, the number of pet pills is (pet_stones/10)*1.5^(hours-1). This helps reduce the opportunity cost of longer campaigns, somewhat. The pet pills from each item camp multiply the previous pet pill multiplier. For example, if you run two 1-hour item camps and get 6.5 pet pills from each campaign, you will have a pet pill multiplier of 6.5*6.5 = 42.25 (displayed as 42). If instead you do a single 2-hour item campaign with the same pets and retrieve 130 pet stones, you will earn (13*1.5^1) = 19.5 pet pills.

Repeating 1-hour item campaigns, with high item camp bonuses, is the single most important strategy. Longer item campaigns still help, just not as much.

Simple strategy for people without a lot of free time (will take 2-3 days per UPC):
  • Do as many 1h item camps as you can. It's the best you can do to get pills.
  •  Level your pets to at least 1M stats multi.
  • Always use the pets with bonus in item camps for item camps.

28-36 hours is a decent time for UPCs. With 10 pets (each at least 2.3k growth), only 1 hour item campaigns with at least 55 pet stones per hour and about 4-12 hours to level the pets (at least 1m total stats per pet).

As you can see in the following screenshot (online function plotter), to reach the target pet pill multiplier of 10^21, you need about 35 hours with 4 pet pills per hour, ~28h with 6 pet pills/hour and ~19h with 14 pet pills/hour. https://prnt.sc/22043dl

When you start a UPC see what item campaign stat tier you can realistically reach with your pets' growths, then train 10 pets up to that level and use them to run item campaigns as frequently as possible. Other pets should either be training, running level campaigns, or running divinity campaigns (for more monuments with a target multiplier of about 10^9 and upgrades.)

Focus your clones on monuments, the divinity generator, and defeating UBs to build up divinity and build as many monuments and upgrades as possible. Mighty Statues and Mystic Gardens and their upgrades can really boost your Monument Multi quite high fairly quickly.

Might unleash does affect your pet's stats and is extremely powerful. Generally, an unleash will let you defeat 2 more gods above what you can with your base stats.

There's no reason to rebirth during a UPC unless your rebirth multipliers are too low to defeat Baal, because your god's health and defense must still be able to endure his attacks. You should always start a UPC with high enough multipliers for that because rebirthing needlessly resets your pet stats and monument multiplier.
